READING AND DISCUSSION: Author and Humorist G. Xavier Robillard on Captain Freedom

Posted April 13, 2009

Robillard is a humorist from Boston whose work has appeared in a variety of publications and media programs, including McSweeney’s, Cracked.com, National Public Radio and Comedy Central. Robillard reads selections from and discusses his first novel, Captain Freedom–A Superhero’s Quest for Truth, Justice, and the Celebrity He So Richly Deserves (Harper Collins, February 2009). Captain Freedom has won early praise from author Christopher Moore who describes it as "a truly funny and energetic romp of a social satire, a terrific send up not only of super heroes, but the cult of personality in general."
